Who is Connor Heyward?
In short
Connor Heyward is an American football player who plays as a tight end in the National Football League (NFL). He is currently a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
In plain words
Connor is a professional athlete who plays a specific position in football. His job involves catching passes from the quarterback and helping to block defenders to protect the ball. He comes from a famous sporting family, as his father and uncles were also professional football players.
A simple example
During a game, the quarterback might throw the ball towards Connor while he is running down the field. If Connor catches it, his team gains ground and moves closer to scoring a touchdown.
Why it matters
He is an important part of his team's strategy because tight ends are versatile players. They can act like large receivers to catch the ball or like blockers to help the running backs move forward.
Easy to mix up
People sometimes confuse him with his father, Kris Heyward, who was also a famous football player. It is also easy to mix up his position with a wide receiver, even though his role involves much more physical blocking.
