Vikings vs Dolphins
In short
Vikings vs Dolphins refers to a sporting fixture between the Minnesota Vikings and the Miami Dolphins in American football. This match typically takes place as part of the National Football League (NFL) regular season.
In plain words
This is a game where two professional American football teams compete against each other. The Vikings are based in Minnesota and the Dolphins are based in Miami. They play on a field to see who can score the most points by moving a ball into the opponent's end zone.
A simple example
Imagine two groups of players wearing different coloured helmets. One group wears purple (the Vikings) and the other wears aqua and orange (the Dolphins). They run, catch, and tackle each other to try and win the game.
Why it matters
These matches are important because both teams want to win to improve their standing in the NFL. Winning games helps a team qualify for the playoffs, which is the tournament held at the end of the season to find the overall champion.
Easy to mix up
People sometimes confuse this with a match between actual Viking warriors and sea dolphins. It is also easy to mix up the teams with other clubs that have similar names, such as different football (soccer) clubs or other sports teams.
