Why it matters
New rules mean drivers must stay updated on which roads require payment to avoid fines. Prices for these permits are also changing, with some increasing by two per cent in 2027.
Easy to mix up
Do not confuse a road vignette with a vehicle tax or a parking permit, as they cover different types of usage.
