Upacara Hut Tni
In short
President Prabowo Subianto led the official ceremony for the 81st anniversary of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) at the TNI Headquarters in Cilangkap, Jakarta, on 5 October 2026.
In plain words
This is a formal event held every year to celebrate the birthday of Indonesia's military. It involves parades, speeches, and ceremonies held both in the capital and in local regions across the country.
A simple example
Local officials and military commanders, such as the Dandim in Bojonegoro, hold their own regional ceremonies to mark the same anniversary.
Why it matters
The ceremony serves to strengthen military discipline and reinforce the bond between the armed forces and the Indonesian people. It is also a time for leaders to emphasise national security and regional cooperation.
Easy to mix up
Do not confuse this anniversary ceremony with the Indonesian Independence Day celebrations held on 17 August.
