Twitch
In short
Twitch is a live video streaming platform where people broadcast themselves playing video games, chatting, or performing creative tasks in real time.
In plain words
It is a website where creators go live on camera. Viewers watch these broadcasts and can talk to the creator and other fans using a live chat box.
A simple example
A gamer plays a new adventure game while explaining their strategy to an audience. The viewers send small digital tips called 'Bits' to support the player.
Why it matters
It has changed how people consume entertainment and how creators earn money. It builds massive online communities around shared interests and live interaction.
Easy to mix up
It is often confused with YouTube, which focuses more on pre-recorded videos rather than live interaction.
