Timbiriche
In short
Timbiriche is a highly influential Mexican Latin pop group that rose to fame in the 1980s. Originally started as a children's musical project, the band eventually evolved into a teen and mature pop act.
In plain words
They were a famous singing group from Mexico. They started by making music for kids but grew up with their fans to sing pop songs for teenagers and adults.
A simple example
A young fan in 1982 might have danced to their early nursery-style songs, while the same fan in 1990 would listen to their more romantic pop hits.
Why it matters
The group shaped the sound of Latin pop for a generation. They proved that musical acts could successfully transition from children's entertainment to mainstream stardom.
Easy to mix up
Do not confuse them with the Spanish group Parchís, which was the inspiration for their original formation.
