Sony Ps5 Firmware Update 14 20
In short
Sony has released the 14.20 firmware update for the PlayStation 5 to improve system messages and usability. The update follows reports of a new jailbreak exploit that hackers used to demonstrate running GTA 6 on the console.
In plain words
This is a software update for the PS5. While Sony says it makes the menus easier to use, many believe it is actually a security patch to stop hackers from breaking into the system.
A simple example
A user downloads the 1.2GB update to ensure their console is running the latest software and remains secure against unauthorised modifications.
Why it matters
The update is critical because it may close security gaps used by the jailbreak community. This protection is especially important as major titles like GTA 6 approach release.
Easy to mix up
Do not confuse this system firmware update with a game update for a specific title like GTA 6.
