Php2shell
In short
PHP2Shell is a pair of critical security vulnerabilities discovered in October 2026 that allow attackers to run remote code on servers using PHP versions 5.4 to 8.5.
In plain words
Hackers can use these flaws to take control of a website's computer from far away. This happens because the software has a weakness that lets them send commands directly to the server. Most websites had to be turned off briefly to fix the problem.
A simple example
An attacker sends a specially crafted piece of code through a web form. Instead of just submitting text, the server accidentally runs the code, giving the attacker access to the entire system.
Why it matters
Because so many websites use PHP, this flaw puts a huge portion of the internet at risk of being hacked. It allows criminals to steal data or shut down services entirely.
Easy to mix up
Do not confuse this with a standard web shell, which is a tool used after a hack has already happened.
