Nets X Hornets
In short
The Charlotte Hornets play the Brooklyn Nets tonight, Wednesday 22 October 2026, at the Barclays Center to start their 2026-27 NBA season. The game is scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. ET tip-off.
In plain words
This is the first regular season game for both teams this year. The Hornets are travelling to Brooklyn but will be missing several key players due to injuries.
A simple example
The Hornets must compete without star player Kon Knueppel, as well as Grant Williams and Coby White, during this season opener.
Why it matters
Season openers set the tone for the entire year. For the Hornets, winning without their main stars is a major test of their team depth.
Easy to mix up
Do not confuse this regular season opener with a pre-season exhibition match.
