Keanu Reeves Netflix Action Movie Maelstrom
In short
Keanu Reeves has replaced Alan Ritchson as the lead actor in the upcoming Netflix thriller Maelstrom. The casting change follows Ritchson's departure from the project.
In plain words
Netflix is making a new action film called Maelstrom. Originally, Alan Ritchson was going to be the star, but he has left the film. Now, Keanu Reeves will take over the main role.
A simple example
Instead of the actor from the Reacher series playing the hero, the actor from John Wick will now play the lead character.
Why it matters
This switch changes the tone and star power of the film. Having a major star like Keanu Reeves can increase interest and viewership for Netflix.
Easy to mix up
Do not confuse this with the original casting plans involving Alan Ritchson.
