Icc
In short
The International Cricket Council is the global governing body for the sport of cricket. It manages major international tournaments and sets the official rules for the game.
In plain words
This organisation looks after cricket across the whole world. It organises big events like the World Cup and makes sure all countries follow the same playing rules.
A simple example
When a country wins the T20 World Cup, it is because they won a tournament organised by the ICC. The ICC also decides which teams are allowed to play in top-level matches.
Why it matters
Without a central body, different countries might play by different rules. The ICC ensures the sport remains fair and helps growing nations develop their cricket programmes.
Easy to mix up
Do not confuse the ICC with the IPL, which is a private professional league in India.
