Gov
In short
A government is the system or group of people that manages and directs a state or community. It holds the authority to make laws and is the only entity allowed to use force legally.
In plain words
It is the group in charge of running a country. They make rules, manage money, and ensure people follow the law. This can be done by one person, a small group, or many people through voting.
A simple example
In a democracy, citizens vote for representatives who then form the government to pass new laws.
Why it matters
Without a government, there would be no organised way to provide public services like schools or roads. It provides the structure needed to maintain order and protect citizens.
Easy to mix up
People often confuse the government with the state, but the state is the permanent territory and population, while the government is the specific group currently in power.
