Gefragt Gejagt
In short
Gefragt – Gejagt is a popular German television quiz show based on the British format The Chase. It features contestants competing against a professional quiz expert known as the Chaser.
In plain words
Players answer quick questions to win money. If they get enough right, they must face a master quizzer to keep their winnings. If the Chaser catches them, they lose everything.
A simple example
A contestant answers ten questions correctly to build a prize pot. They then face the Chaser in a final round to try and protect that money.
Why it matters
It is one of Germany's most successful game shows and has been running since 2012. It brings the high-pressure tension of a duel to mainstream television.
Easy to mix up
Do not confuse it with Jeopardy!, which uses a different question-and-answer format.
