Geforce Rtx 5080 24gb
In short
The GeForce RTX 5080 24GB is a rumoured high-end graphics card expected to replace the RTX 5090 as Nvidia's flagship gaming product. This shift follows reports that Nvidia is halting RTX 5090 production to prioritise silicon for professional AI and workstation use.
In plain words
Nvidia is reportedly stopping production of its most powerful gaming card, the RTX 5090. Instead, they may release an upgraded RTX 5080 with 24GB of memory to serve as the new top-tier option for gamers.
A simple example
A gamer who wanted the massive power of an RTX 5090 might instead have to wait for the RTX 5080 24GB, which is rumoured to arrive in early 2027.
Why it matters
This change shows Nvidia is focusing more on the profitable AI and professional markets than on consumer gaming. It could lead to higher prices and fewer ultra-high-end options for PC enthusiasts.
Easy to mix up
Do not confuse this with the existing 16GB RTX 5080, which is expected to be retired in favour of this larger 24GB version.
