In short
Fantasy Premier League is an online game where players build virtual squads of real football players to earn points based on their actual match performances.
In plain words
You pick a team of players within a set budget. When your players score goals, make tackles, or keep clean sheets in real life, you get points. You compete against friends or people globally in a league.
A simple example
If you pick Erling Haaland and he scores a hat-trick on Saturday, your fantasy team earns a large number of points. This helps you climb higher in your mini-league.
Why it matters
It makes watching football more engaging for fans by adding a layer of strategy and competition. It also creates a massive global community of players who discuss tactics and transfers.
Easy to mix up
Do not confuse it with betting on football results, as it is a game of skill and statistics rather than gambling.
