Fortnite Server Status
In short
Fortnite servers are currently offline on 15 October 2026 for scheduled maintenance to deploy the second half of the Fortnitemares event.
In plain words
The game is temporarily unavailable because Epic Games is installing a new update. This downtime allows them to add new seasonal content and features to the game.
A simple example
Players cannot log in to play matches or access the shop while the v42.40 update is being installed.
Why it matters
Maintenance is necessary to introduce new skins, such as the Hazbin Hotel collaboration, and to ensure the game runs smoothly. Without these updates, the game would not receive new content or seasonal events.
Easy to mix up
Do not confuse server downtime with a personal internet connection issue or a hardware fault.
