Fantasy Premier League
In short
The official online fantasy football game played by millions of fans to test their knowledge of the English Premier League. Players select a squad of real-life footballers and earn points based on their actual match performances.
In plain words
You pick a team of players and manage them each week. When your players score goals or keep clean sheets in real matches, you get points. You can trade players and change your tactics to climb the rankings.
A simple example
If you pick Erling Haaland and he scores a hat-trick on Saturday, your fantasy team earns a large number of points. This helps you move up your mini-league table.
Why it matters
It changes how fans watch football matches by adding a personal stake in every goal. It also creates a massive global community of players competing against friends and strangers.
Easy to mix up
Do not confuse it with 'Predictor' games, which only ask you to guess scores rather than managing a full squad.
