Falcons Qb
In short
The Atlanta Falcons quarterback is the player responsible for leading the team's offence and throwing the ball during American football matches.
In plain words
This player calls the plays and decides where to throw the ball to teammates. They are the most important person in the attacking part of the team.
A simple example
A quarterback sees a receiver running into an open space and throws a long pass to score a touchdown.
Why it matters
The quality of the quarterback often determines if a team wins or loses. They must make split-second decisions under heavy pressure from the opposing team.
Easy to mix up
Do not confuse the quarterback with the wide receiver, who is the person catching the ball.
