Ellie Kildunne England Squad Bench
In short
England head coach John Mitchell has moved star fullback Ellie Kildunne to the bench for the Red Roses' upcoming rematch against Canada in Ottawa. This selection change is part of four major squad adjustments intended to reset the team following their first defeat in four years.
In plain words
Instead of starting the match, Ellie Kildunne will begin as a substitute. The coach is making these changes to help the team recover after a recent loss.
A simple example
Rather than playing from the first whistle, Kildunne will wait on the sidelines to enter the game later as an impact player.
Why it matters
This decision signals a significant tactical shift by John Mitchell to find a winning formula again. It shows that even star players can be moved to the bench to help the team bounce back from defeat.
Easy to mix up
Do not confuse this with her being dropped from the squad entirely; she is still part of the matchday team but starting as a substitute.
