Dailymotion
In short
Dailymotion is a French video-sharing platform owned by Canal+ that allows users to upload and watch videos online.
In plain words
It is a website where people can share videos with the world. It works similarly to YouTube and is available in many different languages across the globe.
A simple example
A person can upload a short film or a music video to their channel for others to view. Viewers can then watch these clips on their computers or mobile phones.
Why it matters
It provides a major alternative to larger video platforms and supports high-definition content. With over 300 million monthly users, it is a significant part of the global digital media landscape.
Easy to mix up
It is often confused with YouTube, which is a different company based in the United States.
