Byu Quarterback
In short
The BYU quarterback position is currently under scrutiny following the team's 39-31 double-overtime loss to UCF on 24 October 2026. This defeat handed the No. 2 ranked Cougars their first loss of the season.
In plain words
The quarterback is the player who leads the offence and throws the ball. After a recent upset loss, the team's performance and decision-making are being heavily debated by fans and experts.
A simple example
During the game against UCF, the quarterback had to manage the team through two extra periods of play to try and secure a win.
Why it matters
The quarterback's performance directly affects the team's ranking and chances in the College Football Playoff. A loss for a top-ranked team like BYU can significantly change the national standings.
Easy to mix up
Do not confuse the quarterback with the head coach, Kalani Sitake, who manages the entire team rather than just the offensive plays.
