Bbc Sounds
In short
BBC Sounds is a digital audio streaming and download service provided by the BBC. It hosts live radio broadcasts, podcasts, and music collections.
In plain words
It is an app and website where you can listen to the radio as it happens. You can also catch up on shows you missed or find new music and podcasts. It works on phones, computers, and smart TVs.
A simple example
If you miss a live programme on BBC Radio 1, you can search for it on BBC Sounds to listen to it later.
Why it matters
It brings all the BBC's audio content into one single place. This makes it easy for people to discover new creators and listen to their favourite shows anywhere.
Easy to mix up
Do not confuse it with BBC iPlayer, which is used for watching video and television programmes.
