Ap Rankings College Football
In short
The latest AP Top 25 poll for Week 6 shows significant movement, including Iowa dropping six spots after a loss to Ohio State and Utah moving up during their bye week. Recent voting has faced criticism for potential SEC bias and controversial individual ballots.
In plain words
This is a weekly list of the best college football teams. A group of experts votes on which teams are the strongest based on their recent games and performance.
A simple example
After Iowa lost 31-14 to Ohio State, voters moved them down the list in the latest rankings.
Why it matters
These rankings influence how much respect teams receive and help decide which teams qualify for major post-season tournaments. They also spark intense debate among coaches, players, and fans regarding fairness.
Easy to mix up
Do not confuse these with the Coaches Poll, which is a separate ranking decided by football coaches rather than journalists.
