2028 Fifa Women S Club World Cup
In short
The 2028 FIFA Women's Club World Cup is the first edition of this international football tournament, scheduled to take place from 5 to 30 January 2028.
What is happening
FIFA is preparing for the inaugural tournament featuring 19 teams. The event was originally planned for early 2026 but has been delayed by two years.
When
5 to 30 January 2028
Why it matters
It marks the first time the world's top women's club teams will compete in a global FIFA-organised tournament. This establishes a new pathway for professional women's clubs to claim a world title.
Easy to mix up
It should not be confused with the FIFA Women's World Cup, which is played by national teams rather than individual clubs.
