The United States and Israel have been at war with Iran and its regional allies since 28 February 2026. As of 14 October 2026, Iran has threatened to invade neighbouring countries if the US launches a new wave of attacks following next month's midterm elections.
What is happening
Iran is currently fortifying its defences and cracking down on the use of Starlink satellite internet, which it labels a tool of war. The conflict follows air strikes by the US and Israel that targeted Iranian officials, including the assassination of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
