2 Liga
In short
The 2 Liga, currently known as Betclic II liga for sponsorship reasons, is the third tier of professional football in Poland.
In plain words
It is a football league for teams that are not in the top two divisions. It sits below the I liga and above the III liga. Since 2014, it has operated as one single national division.
A simple example
A club playing in the 2 Liga is trying to win promotion to move up into the I liga.
Why it matters
It serves as a vital bridge between regional football and the top professional levels in Poland. It allows smaller clubs to compete at a national standard.
Easy to mix up
Do not confuse it with the I liga, which is the second tier and sits directly above it.
